Wynndel Craft Distilleries

Steamboats were brought to the Kootenay lake in the late 1800's.

The first steam powered vessel was the Midge, brought by William A. Baillie Grohman to help with reclaming the flood plains and bottom lands of the Creston valley.

Sternwheelers like the Nelson in1891 and the Kokanee and Moyie in 1896. worked the lake  until they were overtaken by railway lines built in 1930's.

The Moyie remained in service till 1957 and can stile seen as a museum in Kaslo.

Pat and Jeanette immigrated to Canada in 1997. Ate working in Saskatchewan and Fort Mc Murray and. Calgary they settled in Creston and bought the Saskatoon farm on the flats at Wynndel.
